Mindfulness is deliberate awareness to the present moment with qualities of acceptance, non-judgment, curiosity, and observation.

Mindful Parenting is the practice of intentionally bringing purposeful awareness to everyday parenting situations in order to cultivate and deepen  the parent-child connection.

Children who grow feeling connected to their parents:

  • Have healthy self-esteem
  • Do better in school
  • Choose healthy relationships
  • Feel comfortable around adults
  • Explore and try new things
  • Have an easier time with change
  • Develop a positive self-concept

In other words, the parent-child connection grows happy children!

The Mindful Parent Happy Child Program helps parents learn new ways to handle the hectic and unpredictable days of family life. Interactive classes teach parents mindfulness skills that lead to more positive interactions with their children. Home life improves. Soon, instead of mornings where everyone seems to be running late, reactions are high and getting higher, the mindful parent remembers to respond thoughtfully in a calm and effective manner.

Mindful parenting is the practice of using self-awareness to know when it is time to self-intervene:  to slow down, think, and decide the course of action that will keep your child close to you. Rather than home life feeling out of control and overwhelming, the Mindful Parent creates a home that is a secure and stress-free zone — a place where people feel loved, accepted, and calm.
