Dear Mindful YOU!
July was a busy and wonderful month. I am happy to report that my most recent two-hour introductory classes went very well. The number of participants far exceeded expectations, and I'll be providing more classes in August to meet the demand!
The many new people I am meeting along the way inspire me with their enthusiasm and desire to incorporate the Mindful Parent Happy Child (MPHC) principles and practices into their parenting work. As the program expands, my appreciation for just how much its core concepts and methods make sense to people continues to grow.
Interest in becoming a Certified Facilitator is increasing as well. A number of people have approached me about training to become a MPHC Facilitator so they can start their own classes. If you are interested in finding more about this process please e-mail me at: mindfulparents@gmail.com.
MHPC Facilitator Training begins in September; the date has yet to be confirmed.
At this point in time, Mindful Parent Happy Child is a healthy and fast-growing movement. Why? Because people are connecting to the greater mission of this program: That every child have a parent or adult in his or her life with whom they can feel a secure, loving, and abiding connection.
Our strategy for fulfilling our mission is simple: be a mindful parent to your children and all other children, lead by example, become a MPHC Facilitator to teach others' to be mindful parents too. I invite you to share in spreading this mission to others. Pass this newsletter along your friends, family and colleagues. Post it on your social media sites. Together we can let the rest of the world know that something very important is going on with today's parents!
Mindfully yours,
Pilar Placone
AUGUST MINDFUL MUSINGS
You Are the Master Gardner of YOU!
I just browsed my vegetable garden and I am delighted to report that there are enough Roma tomatoes and basil to make my favorite summertime meal, bruschetta, drowned in garlic and olive oil!
In my book, Mindful Parent Happy Child: A Guide to Raising Joyful and Resilient Children, I use aspects of gardening as a metaphor for parenting quite often. Here are a few:
"If we want to raise a loving child, we need to plant and tend the seeds that grow love."
"Like any good garden, a healthy parent-child connection must be tended with the right tools and growth-producing agents."
